Yesterday was Senior Day at the college swim meet to honor those on the team who swam 4 years. (You are only allowed to participate in a sport for 4 years.) These are the girls; Kelly, Meghan, Colleen, Chrissy, Beth and Carrie. Only 3 of the girls will actually graduate this May.

Blessed are those who post on their blogs regularly
I was reading Melody's Blog post from yesterday, "Prayer in the Studio", what a hoot!!!.... fabric destiny. A place for every piece under heaven, or should that be a piece for every place?
Anyway....So forgive me ring master for I have sinned, the last post to my blog was 12 days ago. I have been busy attending 7 high school swim meets, 5 high school basketball games, 2 cheerleading competitions, 2 college swim meets and 1 official college visit. Oh, and waiting 8 hours one day for the TV repair man, (it's under warranty). By mid-March, the Winter sports season will be over, and I shall have more time perfect fitting pieces in their perfect places.

Welcome Home
Yeah... my machine is home again, only a $120 repair bill, parts and labor. Somehow, a hugh amount of thread got wound around the take up lever and actually over time, it wore a groove in the metal which caused the machine to just stop sewing.

Shadow Play
I've been reading this book, Casting Shadows by Colleen Wise.
I purchased wooden shapes at Michaels crafts, they were 25 cents each to use as the "shadows". I prepared in a squirt bottle a 50/50 bleach water mixture, tested a few fabrics. These are the Discharge test strips...
The blue and green fabrics on the right are the ones I chose.

Quilting UFO
I spent the majority of today quilting my "Unusual Lone Star"...it's looking pretty good. I used a 12 wt. cotton black thread, red and a gold metallic so far...
The first picture is the back, the second is part of the front.Just as I was completing the star portion, my machine just stopped...I'm not sure if it's the motor or mechanical, guess I'll be stopping by my Bernina dealer tomorrow!
