Dreaming Bubbles

This is drawing I did of Danielle last year, as she was laying on the sofa with her hood up, this is all that you could see of her face. I used shiva paint sticks on PFD Fabric. It has been hanging on my wall just waiting for something to happen to it.

Well, it started with a scribble, inspired by Mary's "Head Music 2", in my sketch book, incorporating the face...then adding some of Melody's luscious hand dyed fabrics...it is about 29" x 32".

So, please tell me what you think...

slowly scanning down your blog while reading, i never suspected that the face was going to be incorporated into the sketch...the face against the vibrant colours and design is a great focal point!

Wow, Marlene. Really gorgeous, and I love the curved edges; square just wouldn't have done it! The rich, saturated colors are great...is it silk?

Love it, I am impressed that that came from a line drawing...

I forgot - the face is so PERFECT, it really gives meaning to the title...

It's fabulous! I love this! I had the same reaction as Karoda...going from photo to sketch to this VIBRANT gorgeous abstract quilt. It's wonderful.

Wonderful! The progress from the sketch to this piece is truly creative. I have tremendous admiration for someone who can do this.

This is gorgeous! Those fabric colors are intense, and I love the way all the curves and shapes work together.
Always fun to see "process", so thanks for sharing your inspiration! Jen

So unexpected! Great job. It's a very interesting combination of both techniques and subject matter.
