More Orange Peel
Champions!!!
On Saturday, Danielle's cheerleading squad competed in the Suburban 1 Cheer competition. They won Grand Champion in the Medium Varsity division. The girls wearing medals are Seniors. Congratulations girls!!
Well, I have finally finished piecing the 120 arches, now it's on to the borders then sewing the arches to the center squares. Right now it is just pinned to the wall. I changed around a few of the background squares, I like it better now.

Indian Orange Peel
This is my latest project. Karen Stone's Indian Orange Peel. My quilt is all about relative value, and balancing the color. The upper right will be a gray, the fabric that was there had the same value as it's dark below, which needs to be a bit darker. Mary suggested I paint it, so I will experiment with that today. I still am not sure about the center square in the fourth row, I like the fabrics, but there is a bit too much contrast. I have all the remaining arches planned out, and will post more photo's as it progresses.

Northeast Snow Storm
The big snow storm that hit the Northeast is just about over here in Southeast PA, we recieved here about 12-14 inches of snow. It always amazes me the panic that set in when a snow storm approaches. People rush to the food stores & home stores for shovels and salt, like didn't they have a shovel from the last time it snowed? I grew up in Rochester NY, where the average snow fall is around 100 inches a winter so to me the snow is not a big deal. Here the average snow fall is only 12 inches.
A few years back, my parents moved to Dallas, Texas. They said the panic is even worse there. Not so much with snow issues but the occasional morning ice.
Here are a few pictures from around the house I took while we were all out shoveling.

Birthday Week!
This is birthday week in our house. Ben celebrated his 23rd on Sunday the 29th, Luke turned 25 on the 31st, and today is Dan's birthday he's 51! When the boys were little, we often celebrated their birthdays on January 30th, because that was nobody's birthday. "Why is his birthday before mine when I'm older?" this was a phrase heard often.
